Chip Dombrowsky

Funeral Assistant

Originally from New Jersey, Chip Dombrowsky made his way to North Carolina in 1987, beginning a lifelong commitment to serving others as a firefighter with the Emerald Isle Fire Department. Not long after, he continued that calling with the New Bern Police Department, where he spent 30 years caring for and protecting his community. Starting as a patrolman and later serving as a Detective Sergeant, Chip retired in 2019 with a deep sense of pride in the relationships he built and the lives he touched along the way.

Chip has always believed in giving back to the community he calls home. He is a member of First Baptist Church of New Bern, St. John’s Lodge No. 3 A.F. & A.M., and the New Bern Scottish Rite Bodies. He has also volunteered his time as a firefighter with the West New Bern Volunteer Fire Department.

When he’s not serving others, Chip enjoys spending time working in his yard, lending a hand wherever it’s needed, and reading about military history, a subject he has a deep appreciation for.

As a funeral assistant, Chip brings not only years of experience in public service, but also a genuine kindness and compassion for the families he serves. He understands the importance of care, respect, and simply being there for others during life’s most difficult moments.
