Larry's journey in the funeral industry began when he attended mortuary college at the Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, TX. Since then, he has gained valuable experience by working at several funeral homes in the area including Pollock-Best Funerals & Cremations as well as Cotten Funeral Home. Over the years, Larry has strived to serve every family with compassion, understanding, and personalized attention, recognizing that each family, and even individuals within a family, have their own unique needs.
When Rex Bennett asked Larry to join his new venture, he gladly accepted. As a man of faith, Larry values the trust and support of his community, and he felt honored to be asked by his minister and fellow funeral director to join such a remarkable team.
Outside of work, Larry and his wife Nell attend Highland Park Christian Church in Trent Woods where Larry plays the piano. He enjoys Southern Gospel music and has attended countless concerts over the years. His wife, Nell, retired as manager of New Bern Bible & Book Store and is also dedicated to helping others in any way she can. The couple's personal experience of losing their daughter has given Larry a renewed determination to serve and support families during their time of need.
Larry and his fellow team members strive to provide exceptional funeral services with a personal touch. They are committed to helping families honor their loved ones in a meaningful and dignified way. So if you find yourself in need of funeral or cremation services, you can be assured that the staff at Bennett Funeral & Cremation Care will be there to guide and support you every step of the way.
