William Wade Case

–

Vanceboro, North Carolina

William Wade Case, known affectionately by family and friends as Wade, walked into the arms of his Lord on April 7, 2025. Born in Craven County, North Carolina, on November 25, 1938, Wade's life was a spirited journey from the start. His wit was as sharp as a tack and his love was as deep as the ocean. He was a dedicated husband, a lover of life, and a faithful servant of God.

Wade spent his working years serving as a crew leader with the N.C. Department of Transportation. He was a hard worker, always ready to roll up his sleeves and get the job done. Wade was also a gifted handyman, known for his ability to tinker and work on various projects. From car engines and motorcycles to the shadow boxes he gifted to friends and family, his dedicated work was a testament to his character. He was a happy man, a hardworking man, a handyman, a hungry man who enjoyed food, a humorous man, and above all, a holy man.

Wade was a longtime member of the New Bern Church of God, where he served faithfully in many roles through the years. His commitment to his faith was unwavering, having given his heart to the Lord in 1970, and faithfully serving Him ever since. As Psalm 37:23 says, "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” Wade lived his life in this way, with a commitment to serving the Lord and loving his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife 49 years, Faye Jones Case; his sons, Doug Case (Denise), Harvey Case (Dawn), and Brad Case (Lindsey Brinkley); grandchildren, Christy Hardy (Thomas), Joshua Case (Mary Catherine), Colby Case (Ashley Fitzgerald), Kipper Case, and Kirbi Case; great grandchildren, Triston, Braelen, Hampton, Garner; and sister, Ellen Banks. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wade "Hamp" Case and Ellen "Ellie" Case; as well as his siblings, Peggy, Hazel, Clara, and Ellen.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 10:00 am at the New Bern Church of God, 1230 Colony Drive, New Bern, North Carolina, 28562. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Joseph Leonard officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made in Wade’s name to the New Bern Church of God.
