New Bern, North Carolina
With deep affection and a heavy heart, we celebrate the life of Rose Marie White Brinson, affectionately known to her family and friends as "Rosie," who was born on March 31, 1960, in New Bern, North Carolina, and passed away on August 6, 2025. Rosie was a beacon of loving kindness and a resilient pillar in her community. Born to Jesse and Daisy White, Rosie was a supportive daughter, a thoughtful friend, and a cherished family member.
Rosie's life was marked by a spirit of love and adventure. From the shores of Florida to the bustling streets of New York, from the Canadian wilderness to the magnificent Ozarks, her love for travel was as expansive as her heart, these trips made even more meaningful because they were with her husband, Wayne. This love was further enriched by her fondness for books, especially romance novels, and the joy she found in piecing together puzzles. Rosie's love for the ocean, sunning on the beach, and fishing was only outweighed by her passion for being "Mimi" to her cherished grandchildren. She was known for her culinary prowess, often lovingly preparing meals for her family. Her ultimate joy was her family, which she held as the most precious part of her life.
Rosie was an accomplished woman who began working at a young age. Her journey started at Hardee's, moved to Tryon Chevrolet, and ultimately found fulfillment in the finance department of Craven County. She served her community faithfully for over 30 years as a Payroll & Benefits Associate, retiring with a legacy of dedication and resilience.
Rosie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Wayne Brinson; cherished son, Jason Brinson; her beloved grandchildren, Addison Brinson and Garrett Brinson; her caring sister, Darlene Forrest (Tim); her cousin, Judy Faye Suitt; and is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Daisy White.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 in the fellowship hall (downstairs) of Broad Street Christian Church. A memorial service will be held the following day, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of Broad Street Christian Church with Reverend Rex Bennett officiating.
Rosie's life was a testament to love, resilience, support, and thoughtfulness. Her spirit lives on in the cherished memories and stories shared by those who knew and loved her. We encourage friends and family to share their memories and upload photos of Rosie to the memorial page, as we collectively remember and celebrate her beautiful life.
