With a heart as compassionate as his spirit was strong, our beloved Ron Niedzwiecki left us on July 1, 2024. Born on March 22, 1946, in Paterson, NJ, Ron was a humble gentleman whose life was defined by the love he had for those around him and the dedication he brought to his work. He was a beacon of support for those who knew him, and the echo of his loving nature continues to resonate in the hearts of those he left behind.
Ron was a stalwart figure in the world of construction, a field that greatly benefited from his hard work and commitment. His dedicated years of service were highlighted when he was chosen as one of the first contractors to aid in the cleanup following the devastating events of September 11th. His tenacity saw him remain on the project till its completion, a true testament to his unwavering dedication. Away from the hustle of construction sites, Ron found solace in lifting weights and spending time at the gym. He was also a passionate lover of old cars, motorcycles, and held a profound love for the Lord.
Fondly remembered as a loving husband to his wife, Sandra DeLellis, and an affectionate pet parent to his cat, Lenny P. Kat, Ron's love knew no bounds. He was a devoted member of the Croatan Free Will Baptist Church, where he served with humility and grace. In the words of the Bible, "Well done, good and faithful servant...Enter into the joy of your master" (Matthew 25:23). He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Niedzwiecki. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his sister, Diane Hitchcock; nieces, Karen Hitchcock, Jennifer Bartalozzi, Diane Roberts; and nephew, James Hitchcock.
A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Croatan Free Will Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm. An interment service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Ron's name to one of his favorite charities, the Tunnels to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org).
We invite all who knew and loved Ron to share their memories and photos on his memorial page. He may no longer be with us in body, but his spirit lives on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish.
