Roger Tubbs

–

New Bern, North Carolina

Roger Allen Tubbs, affectionately known by friends and family as "Tubby," was born on September 16, 1967, in Salisbury, MD, USA. His journey in life ended on March 14, 2025, and while we mourn his departure, we also celebrate the remarkable life he lived. Roger was a captivating presence, a loyal friend, and a talented carpenter, whose zest for life was infectious and left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Roger's life led him from his birthplace in Salisbury to Oceanside, Maryland, finally settling in New Bern, North Carolina. His passion for carpentry was not just a profession but an art that he mastered. He was a man whose hands could transform wood into structures that held families, dreams, and futures. It was in this testament of resilience and creativity that we saw the embodiment of a quote from Leonardo da Vinci, “Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer.”

Roger's heart was as big as his talent. His belief that he should help others, even strangers, was a testament to his magnanimous spirit. His love for his family was unyielding, and his cherished moments with his beloved great-niece, Maryanne, brought him immense joy. His other joys included his dog Dorothy, and spending time on his computer. His life was a clear illustration of the words of Albert Einstein, "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile."

Roger is survived by his sister, Mary Eubanks; his brother, Jimmy Tubbs; nieces, Dana Eubanks and Maryanne Eubanks; and nephews, Brandon Eubanks and Jonny Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Tubbs, and his brother, William Jr.

As we remember Roger, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos of him on the memorial page. Each memory shared offers comfort and reminds us that Roger's spirit is still with us, in our hearts and in the works of his hands. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.
