Michael Truelove

–

New Bern, North Carolina

Michael Dean Truelove, loving father, devoted partner and lifelong fisherman, 44, died on 4 August 2025 in Eastern NC.

Mike, was born at Camp Pendleton, California, 1980 to Resa Thomas and Jerry Truelove, Jr. He grew up under the loving care of both parents, along with Lynn Truelove, who is Mike's second mom. Jerry, Resa and Lynn are, and will always be, proud of their loving and larger-than-life son who grew up displaying incredible compassion for those around him and a sense of humor you may be lucky to see once in a lifetime.

Mike cherished his time with his significant other, DeWayne Ward, and son Li Childress.

Survived by six siblings, Brandt, Marie, Chase, Alishia, Thomas and Joshua. Mike was surrounded by the love of his brothers and sisters. Each one shares a special place in each other's hearts for different reasons and collectively share an unbreakable bond, which will last a lifetime.

Mike has three children, Michael, Shyann and Damon, who were his proudest accomplishments. Each child was a unique and special gift to Mike, who often shared stories about how proud he was of each of them. He was also a loving and proud grandfather to Marrah and Laynah Truelove.

Jewel, Mike's furriest companion and dog, will miss his daily affection and never stop watching the door to his return.

Mike's friends and family will miss him every day, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who love him and all who were lucky enough to know him.

Mike will remain with his family, so that he may always be surrounded and protected by love.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the "C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation" (https://castforkids.org/give-memorial-donations/) a charity organization, whose mission is to provide an opportunity to learn how to fish for children with special needs.
