Leola "Lee" Worley

Leola "Lee" Worley, a humble and compassionate soul, passed away on August 14, 2026. Born on May 10, 1943, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Lee was a beacon of love and tenderness. Her life was a testament to the virtues of patience, humility, and faith. A loving mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt, Lee's memory will forever be cherished by those she left behind.

Lee was a homemaker by trade and by heart, her love for her family shining brightly through the meals she cooked and the home she nurtured. She had a knack for southern cuisine and a green thumb that brought life to both her garden and the hearts of those around her. Lee's thoughtful hands knew the intricate dance of needle and thread, creating beautiful gifts and mending clothes with equal skill. Her faith was as steadfast as the North Star, guiding her through life's storms and sunny days alike. A faithful Christian, Lee found solace and strength in her faith.

Lee is survived by her son, Chris Worley (Monica); her sisters, Betty Raley (Del) and Regina Harrell (James); her brothers, Phillip Gibble (Theresa) and Kenneth Gaskins; and her grandchildren, Patrick Worley and Diego Martijena. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnnie Worley Sr.; her son, Johnnie Jr.; and her parents, Leonard Gibble and Lorena Gaskins.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Bennett Funeral & Cremation Care, 3310 Trent Road, New Bern, NC 28562.
