With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jack Jones, affectionately known as “Big Jack,” on September 19, 2026. Jack was born on August 7, 1980, in New Bern, North Carolina. Although his time with us was far too short, the life he built, the family he cherished, and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
Jack was a hardworking and devoted man who spent much of his career in the aircraft industry. Through years of dedication and perseverance, he rose to the position of Senior Manager. He took great pride in providing for his family, but no professional accomplishment ever meant as much to him as being a husband and father.
Above all else, Jack loved his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Amy, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and countless memories. Jack and Amy grew up together, raised ten children together, and shared a lifetime side by side.
Jack was incredibly proud of his children and treasured his role as their father. Whether he was grilling outside, sitting on the sidelines or in the stands at one of their games, spending time at home, or simply surrounded by his family, those were the moments that meant the most to him. Jack was a joyful person who enjoyed life most when he was with the people he loved.
He also treasured his friendship with Jeff Gray. Together, they enjoyed riding their Harleys. Jack enjoyed good food, especially Mexican food and tacos, and had a special way of turning ordinary moments with family and friends into cherished memories.
Jack’s faith was an important part of the life he built for his family. He made it a priority for his children to grow up knowing the Lord. Even through the most difficult seasons of his life, faith remained a meaningful foundation for Jack and his family.
The words of Proverbs 3:5–6 offer a fitting reflection of that faith:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Jack leaves behind his beloved wife, Amy Jones, and their ten children, listed from oldest to youngest: Jack Jr. and his wife, Priya; Christian; Jacob; Isaac; Elizabeth and her husband, Grant Gupton; Haleigh; Elijah; Emmett; Lexi; and Ezekiel.
He was also a proud PawPaw to Kriya Ladi, Waylon Jack, and Jiya Laxmi, with another grandson on the way. His grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy and brightened his life, especially during his illness. Their smiles, laughter, and loving presence gave him precious moments of happiness and comfort through some of his most difficult days. His greatest legacy will always be the family he loved so deeply.
He is also survived by his sweet niece, Angel Atkins; his brother, Chris Conrad, and his wife, Jodi; his sister, Ellen Goggin, and her husband, Kyle; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Christopher Whitaker and Madison, Hailey Scott and Jake, James Moll, Makayla Fine and Jonathan, Jordan, Cloie, and Lexi Morin. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Jones, and his brother, Stephen Jones Jr.
A Celebration of Life honoring Jack will be held Friday, September 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at The Wedding Barn, 325 Shoo Fly Road, New Bern, North Carolina.
Family and friends are encouraged to share their favorite memories and photographs of Jack on his memorial page. So many parts of Jack will live on through the people who loved him—in his children, in the family he built with Amy, in the lessons he taught, in the faith he shared, and in the countless memories made over the years.
Jack was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed. His life cannot be measured simply by the years he was given, but by the family he built, the people he loved, and the lasting mark he left on all of them.
