Frank Misselhorn

–

Raleigh, North Carolina

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Francis Matthew "Frank" Misselhorn, who left us on January 2, 2025. Born on April 3, 1946, Frank lived a vibrant life, rich with travel, community, and a passion for his craft. He resided for most of his life in New Jersey, but his adventurous spirit took him up and down the West Coast and even as far as the paradisiacal shores of Hawaii.

With a vivacious personality and a knack for connecting with people, Frank was never one to shy away from a social gathering. Frank will be remembered for his remarkable generosity. He had a giving spirit and shared his financial blessings freely, always eager to help family, friends, and those in need. His kindness touched many lives and left a legacy of compassion and care. He was a proud member of Shriners International, where he not only found an outlet for his altruistic nature but also formed lifelong friendships. His professional journey was equally impressive as he excelled in his role as a pipe fitter and welder in the nuclear construction field. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." Frank truly embodied this philosophy, touching countless lives with his kind-heartedness and dedication to his work.

Frank spent the majority of his life in New Jersey, raising his children in Bellmawr. After his son Robert joined the military in 1992, Frank moved to New Bern, North Carolina with his wife. Frank is survived by his son Robert Misselhorn, and Daughter Laura Misselhorn, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his spouse Betty Wheeler, and his parents Louis and Regina Misselhorn.

The family will receive friends on Friday, 10th of January, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Bennett Funeral & Cremation Care, 3310 Trent Road, New Bern, North Carolina, 28562. A graveside service will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery extension, 808 George Street, New Bern, North Carolina, 28560.

We encourage those who had the pleasure of knowing Frank to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page. His life was a tapestry of rich and royal hue, an everlasting vision of the ever-changing view. Let's remember him as such - a man who lived, loved, and made a difference.

Bennett Funeral & Cremation Care is honored to serve the family and friends of a truly remarkable man, Frank Misselhorn.
