Christopher Stainback

It is with profound sorrow and a sense of deep loss that we mourn the passing of our beloved Christopher Nels Stainback, who left us on December 15, 2025, just short of his 64th birthday. Born in Camp Springs, Maryland on December 22, 1961, Christopher, or Chris as he was fondly known, was a beacon of love, support, and reliability to all who knew him.

An adventurous spirit, Chris spent his early years in Italy, a place he always held dear because of his Italian heritage and the precious memories he created there. This international upbringing sparked a lifelong love of travel and adventure in him. As an electrician by trade, Chris had the opportunity to travel extensively, installing and repairing electrical systems for commercial clients. Always reliable, Chris was known for his dedication and skill in his trade.

Chris was a man of many passions, but nothing mattered more to him than his family. His love for his wife, Barbara, knew no bounds. She was his princess, his world. Chris's love for cooking, especially Italian dishes, was another testament to his nurturing soul. His famous meatballs were not only a nod to his Italian roots but also a symbol of the love he poured into everything he did. He was also an avid fisherman, finding peace and joy in the time he spent on the water. Chris was adventurous in life, supportive in love, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Christopher is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Stainback; children, Christian Williams, Bryan Stainback, and Christopher Stainback; stepchildren, Brandy Thomas, Leigh Anne Poplin, and Michael Crawford, Jr.; and seventeen grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ashley and Giovanna Stainback.

Chris's family will gather together in the summer to scatter his ashes on the water, a place near and dear to his heart.
