Jeremy Cayton

–

Ernul, North Carolina

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Jeremy Cayton, an adventurous soul with an infectious sense of humor and a devout follower of Jesus Christ. Born on April 15, 1984, in New Bern, North Carolina, Jeremy lived a life filled with joy, laughter, faith, and an insatiable zest for adventure until his departure on February 2, 2026. His memory will forever be cherished and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jeremy was an exceptional individual, known for his love for the outdoors, particularly the thrill of a good hunt. He was often found in the woods, surveying for deer with his loyal hunting dogs by his side, who were not only his hunting companions but also his cherished pets. Jeremy was a humorous character who never met a stranger. His infectious laughter was known to fill a room, and he was always on the go. His jovial nature and knack for "cutting up" made him a beacon of light in many lives. A "jack of all trades," Jeremy was a gifted laborer whose versatile skills in numerous construction projects were widely appreciated by those he had worked for. From framing to siding homes, there was never a task he couldn't handle.

Jeremy's life was guided by his faith. He was deeply devoted to Jesus Christ and God Almighty, and his love for God was reflected in the kindness, generosity, and compassion he showed to everyone around him. Despite his many accomplishments, what mattered most to Jeremy was his family and those he loved.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Polizzi (Mike); his grandmother, Sybil Faye Cayton, who he affectionately called "Big Mama"; his brother, Bryan Keith Cayton (Alexia); his niece, Izabella Cayton; his uncle, Tony Cayton (Bonnie); his uncle, Darren Cayton (Charity); cousins, Kalob Cayton, Zachary Cayton, and Macayla Cayton; and really good friend, Ashley Nicole Riggs and her children, Addisen and Ava, who he loved like they were his own. Jeremy joined his father, Keith Cayton, and his grandfather, Ervin Elbert "Buddy" Cayton, who he knew as "Big Pop,” in heaven.

The family will gather to celebrate Jeremy’s life privately.

Jeremy's life was a testament to his adventurous spirit, his devotion to God, his love for his family, and his unique ability to find humor in every situation. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, even in his absence.

We invite you to share your memories and photos of Jeremy on his memorial page. Your stories and pictures will help keep the spirit of Jeremy's adventurous life, faith, and humor alive in our hearts.
