Beverly Rosado-Rivera

–

New Bern, North Carolina

With great love and deep respect, we celebrate the life of Beverly Rosado-Rivera, who passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026. Born in Tower City, Pennsylvania on December 7, 1944, Beverly was a loving and supportive matriarch, known for her keen wit, thoughtfulness, and a heart as big as her personality. She had an infectious sense of humor that was as dry as it was hilarious, often accompanied by a touch of sarcasm and a hint of mischief. A petite woman with a grand presence, Beverly's stubborn determination and resilience were echoed in her devotion to her family and her work as a social worker, where she touched countless lives.

Beverly was a passionate lover of life, with a wide range of interests. She had an extraordinary affinity for animals, always surrounding herself with a menagerie of pets, from birds to cats and dogs. A gifted cook, Beverly took great pleasure in creating delicious Puerto Rican dishes, a nod to the time she spent in Puerto Rico where she completed her university education and began her teaching career. Her love for gardening was a testament to her nurturing spirit, as she cherished the process of planting seeds and watching them grow into beautiful flowers, trees, and shrubs. Together with her beloved husband, Luis Rivera, Beverly enjoyed traveling, taking trips to the beach, crafting, and embarking on spontaneous road trips. Her joy was in the journey, not just the destination.

Beverly's life was a rich tapestry of love, laughter, and service. After her teaching stint in Puerto Rico, she returned to Pennsylvania, where she raised her family and transitioned into social work, a career she found profoundly fulfilling. She continued her service in New Bern, North Carolina, working for Neuse Mental Health Center and the Craven County Department of Social Services until her retirement. Beverly was always available to lend a helping hand, her altruistic nature making her a beacon of hope for many.

Preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Elizabeth Carl, and her daughter, Laura, Beverly is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Luis Rivera; children, Sean Rosado (Diane) and David Rosado (Justine); sisters, Sandra Groome (David) and Ellen Carl; grandchildren, Samantha, Morgan, Garrett, Angelica, Antonio, Zachary, Jacob, Emilio, Justin, Jasmine, and Julianna; and nine great grandchildren. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.

A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Ghent Event Center, 1918 Dr. M.L. King Jr. Blvd., New Bern, NC 28560.

We invite you to share your fond memories of Beverly and upload photos to her memorial page. She lived her life with so much love, and it is in sharing these moments that we keep her spirit alive.
